Walk Cycle

1. Describe your overall thoughts on the final piece.
Overall I am very pleased with the final result of this piece. I feel that it is smooth and simple but not to the point of being boring.
2. How successful do you feel this piece is and why?
I feel like it is very successful because there is little to no change in the horses body in the eight different images and the movement is not jerky. I also like the fact that I kept the theme simple by not coloring anything and keeping it in greyscale.
3. What worked about this project? What didn’t work?
I feel like the images all worked well together but I feel as if it might feel too simple if you watch it for too long.
4. If you were to do this project over again, what changes would you consider making?
If I were to do it again I would consider adding in color and more detail to the background especially and maybe one or two more elements passing by in the background to portray more movement.
5. What was the most difficult part about completing this piece and why?
The most difficult piece was making sure the the horse bodies stayed the same shape and size while tracing the main image. This was difficult because if they changed then the walk would not be as seamless as it could be.
6. What did you learn from this piece?
I learned the importance of keeping things seamless and how to spread things out so that they don't move too quickly and I was also reminded of how to make things move across the screen in Flash.

1. Describe your overall thoughts on the final piece.
Overall I am very pleased with this piece and the outcome of the five different images.
2. How successful do you feel this piece is and why?
I feel it is very successful because it follows the guidelines and the pictures all have a common theme of black and whit with an emphasis on one item in each of the five pictures.
3. What worked about this project? What didn’t work?
I think the black and white and images I chose worked well together. I would have liked to use a different font or a different work for the text.
4. If you were to do this project over again, what changes would you consider making?
I would use a different picture with a better quaility, and I would have scanned in a hand drawing instead of creating on on Flash.
5. What was the most difficult part about completing this piece and why?
The most difficult part was making sure the emphasis is clear on each of the five pieces and that it was not easy to mistake one emphasis for another. I made sure to exagerrate the emphasis on the main focus of the piece instead of trying to be subtle.
6. What did you learn from this piece?
I learned the importance of unity and emphasis to show how something goes together but one piece may be more important than another.

1. Describe your overall thoughts on the final piece.

Overall, I am pleased with the final piece. It runs smoothly and the faces match up with the lyrics well.

2. How successful do you feel this piece is and why?

I feel like this piece is overall very successful because it shows how much time and work I put into it.

3. What worked about this project? What didn’t work?

The faces and clothes I wore worked well for this song. I liked that the song was slower in some parts and gave me a chance to use faces with no lyrics. I wish that the lyrics I had to cut out had not been so quick or else I would have made the clip longer with more variety. I also did not like that I had difficulty matching up the mouths with the faster paced lyrics.

4. If you were to do this project over again, what changes would you consider making?

I would choose a different song completely. I was not please with my song choice and I would have chosen something slower and shorter. Because the song I chose was so long and fast, I had to cut it to a fairly short and simple clip. I would also take another set of eight pictures to create more options in my faces.

5. What was the most difficult part about completing this piece and why?

The most difficult part was managing your time properly and matching the faces up with the sounds. Because not all of the faces matched every sound possible, I was easily frustrated by the lack of smoothness where I had to improvise faces for sounds.

6. What did you learn from this piece?

I learned how to make animated faces for different sounds and how to distribute keyframes along a tween. I also found out that it is much easier to switch the bitmap of faces instead of constantly pasting one of top of the other. I also learned how important a tripod is when you're looking for consistency in your photos.

In this project we were instructed to make a color wheel using images that we had found. I really like tea so I chose to use a plain teacup and teapot. If I were to do anything different I would have arranged the teacups differently and maybe have used a different background. I was pleased with how straight forward it was to change the color of the teacup, and I do like the final result of this project.

We were assigned to take a photo of ourselves and then photo shop around our body and the frame to place ourselves in a different background. I chose the arctic tundra for the background of the frame, and then the desert for the actual background. It makes it seem as if I am standing in the desert, holding a picture of the frozen desert. If I were to do anything different I probably would have chosen a different photo and not have cropped it as much so that more of the desert int he background could have shown. Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome of this project.

Flying Unirhinocorn

Today we were assigned to create new animal. I was interested in the idea of adding wings to something, and I decided that a rhinoceros would be the ideal creature. I found stork wings on the Internet, cut them out and transformed them so they would face in a different direction. The wings were already close to the rhino's colour and I had to adjust the hue and saturation only a little bit. If I could have redone something on this project, I would have found a better horn to put on the the rhino instead of a small narwhal horn. Also I would have made the wings more seamless into the rhino, perhaps placing them so they actually connected to the shoulder of the rhino.

Tongue

This is the tutorial on the second day. We used a picture of a frog and a mouth and learned how to use certain tools to combine the mouth and tongue. We followed the teacher through the tutorial and had the option of adding more to our finished piece but I decided not to.
If I were to do it again, I would probably be more careful cutting out the from and possibly have changed the lip color of the mouth. I learned how to use a drop shadow on the frog to make it appear more realistic instead of fake and flat.

Man Eating Pancake

This is the tutorial on the first day. We learned how to open up the pancake in the shape of a mouth and instead the piranhas teeth to make it appear as if the pancake was going to eat someone or something. I learned how to use the liquefy tool to smoothly move parts of a photo. If I have done this differently I would have done the mouth a bit more realistically and I may not have added the eyes like I did during the free design time.
